Snow White Visits Highland
Snow White visited Highland Avenue today (Dec. 9, 2017). It took my party about 45 minutes to get to church because of the slippery roads and low visibility. Members and visitors stumbled in, bundled up in coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. Everyone recounted their experience of driving below the speed limit and making efforts to be careful. Two of our families were in an accident that left them frightened but okay. Yes, Snow White really did visit Highland today and reminded us of God's love and forgiveness.
Snow falls indiscriminately; as long as you're outside, you will be covered by it. It doesn't take into account what kind of car you drive, as long as your car is parked outside, your car will be covered in snow. Whether your lawn is perfectly manicured or not, it will be blanketed. It doesn't matter if a house is humble or magnificent, snow will cover the roof. You get the point; as long as something is exposed, it will get covered by snow.
Like snow, God's love and forgiveness will cover you if you choose to expose your heart to Him. He will not discriminate. If you ever feel that God can't love you because you have sinned "too much", go out into the snow and see whether the snow cares about your sins. It doesn't; it will still cover you!
If your mind needs transformation, open God's Word and allow His promises to fall on you like Michigan's snow. If your heart needs to be renewed, come into His presence and allow His love to envelop you. If your sins need to be forgiven, stand before Christ and let His precious blood fall on you and make you whiter than snow.
Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow Isaiah 1:18
God's love for you is immeasurable. The fact that you're reading this blog means that He wants you to know how much He loves you. But you have the choice; will you decide to stand before Him daily and allow His love to cover you, or will you remain covered in your own righteousness?
Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
